Summer Knights Under the Tuscan Stars: Pisa's Spectacular July 2026 Line-up

There are few places in the world where you can watch a live show with a thousand years of history looking over your shoulder, and Piazza dei Cavalieri in Pisa is one of them. Once the political heart of the medieval city and now home to the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore, the Knights' Square trades its daytime calm for stage lights every July, when Pisa Summer Knights brings a full week of music and comedy to the heart of Tuscany. The 2026 edition is shaping up to be the best yet, and the coming week is packed from Monday right through to Sunday. The week opens on Monday 20 July with one of Tuscany's very own: Giorgio Panariello brings his show "E se domani..." home to the region that made him. Expect a night of sharp, warm-hearted comedy from one of Italy's most beloved performers — and expect the piazza to be full of locals who have been quoting him for decades. The laughs continue on Tuesday 21 July with Max Angioni and "ANCHE MENO – ROUND FINALE". Angioni has become one of the fastest-rising names in Italian stand-up, and this final round of his acclaimed tour promises exactly the kind of quick, surreal humour that has won him a devoted following. Two consecutive nights of comedy in a Renaissance square is not a bad way to start a week. From Wednesday, the music takes over. On Wednesday 22 July, Coez arrives with "FROM THE ROOFTOP", bringing his blend of melodic rap and Italian pop songwriting to the piazza. He has soundtracked more than a few Italian summers by now, and hearing those choruses sung back under the Tuscan sky should be something special. Thursday 23 July belongs to one of the great voices of Italian music: Giorgia, with her "G SUMMER" show. Her range and control have been stopping audiences in their tracks since the nineties, and an open-air setting like this one — intimate by stadium standards — is arguably the best possible way to hear her live. Friday 24 July brings TonyPitony and "ESTATONY", a night that skews younger and looser, before the festival closes on Sunday 26 July with a genuine international headliner: Skunk Anansie. Skin and company remain one of the most ferocious live rock acts on the circuit, and their appearance in Pisa is one of a handful of Italian dates this summer. As festival closers go, it is hard to imagine a louder or more cathartic finale. Part of what makes Pisa Summer Knights special is the setting itself. Piazza dei Cavalieri sits just a few minutes' walk from the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli, but it feels like a different city — quieter, more lived-in, framed by Vasari's magnificent Palazzo della Carovana. Arriving early is worth it: the surrounding streets fill up with a relaxed pre-show crowd, and the golden hour light on the palazzo facades is a show in its own right.
